FMP W1 (Research) DAY 4

Today I developed the 'witch' picture of David Hockneys, brother's grimm illustrations. I really like this image of the witch and i liked all the line work that was used to create it. I decided to extract the circular shape on the witches hair and developed this again on the stand on photoshop. This was useful as this can help me create silhouettes later on in the design stage. The only thing that I would say that wasn't so successful about this was that maybe i'm jumping to forward and starting to design (im a design student afterall!) however, i know once i get the hang of what to do i can start the research properly... If i done this differently I would have placed more images on the page and made it look a bit more busy so that it wouldn't tempt me to start designing so soon. I will incorporate the stand work of the silhouette shapes in the later stages of the project, so this is a successful thing that I have managed to have done from this part of the research.
Next I am going to move onto the V&A visit and develop the 18th century garments that I saw, I will look into detail the embroidery on the garment as this could be a possible movement for the final outcome...
I am looking forward to meeting with my peers next Tuesday to find out how they feel my progression is going and if i need to speed up... Which i think i do... (That's something that i'm going to have to work on... SOON!)
